Turns out Mom was wrong

My mom is the biggest teller of old wives tales I've ever known. Some of the big ones she constantly repeated when I was a kid were "don't sit that close to the TV, you'll rot your eyes out", "we had to get rid of the cat when you were a baby because it was always trying to suck the life out of you", and "eating carrots makes you see better."
The page here disproves these and many other old wives tales. However, I don't think they're bound to disappear anytime soon.
